CHALLENGE
This is the biggest individual noise barrier project in Finland. The customer of the project is the Finnish Rail Administration. The extent of the project itself made the task challenging. Also the tight schedule and demanding conditions added to the challenge. Noise barriers are installed using the track, even though it isn't fully used yet. The conditions are demanding due to the traffic caused by electrical installation work and supplying of track macadam. Some of the installation has to be done at night and in a variety of weather conditions. 7 kilometres in total of noise barriers are installed along 60 kilometres of the line.

The foundation conditions were challenging in some places due to the soft soil and pile slabs underneath the track. Realizing solid foundations required innovation.
