CHALLENGE
The Kamppi centre is rising in the heart of Helsinki, Finland. In addition to its other challenges, the project's logistics were among the most demanding in Finland. Because the materials and components had to arrive on the site punctually - literally on the minute - there was absolutely no room for mistakes in any part of the delivery chain.
The centre was designed to be solid and sturdy, yet have an air of modernity and lightness. The centre's huge shopping mall and the bus terminals below street level with thousands of people passing through every day presented a unique set of challenges to the structures as well as the materials.
